Cruise Day Two...at Sea

This was our first full day and was a cruising at sea day as we headed the some 1000 miles to Juneau. It was a wonderful day...the seas were calm, the sun was shining. In fact according to the Cruise Director..this was the best Day Two at sea they had had the entire season. Kodie spent most of her day at Adventure Ocean. The morning theme was Super Heroes, she made a cape. Then it was lunch with Mom and Grandma. Then it was back to Adventure Ocean for an Magical Afternoon..she made a wishing wand. The it was dinner and the evening spent together.

Now as for mom and I, we spent some time laying on deck, the casino and the hot tub, it was quite hot, we opted for the indoor solarium one...about 15 minutes was all one could really handle. I spent some time walking around the ship looking at the different things. We did go shopping...as everything with Alaska on it was 75% off. There were some things I thought about getting and didn't...and should have..as they sold out within a couple of days. I got some great pictures of the ship, sea and the show. The show this night was called Piano Man. This group of singers and dancers were just fantastic.

I have to share a story about this day. After dinner, we attended the Welcome Aboard, to those who had cruised with Royal before, which I had not, but my mom had and she could bring guests. So it was standard meet the crew, Welcome by the Captain, food, drinks, and slide show of the new Oasis Line. (WOW!!!). Now back to the story, we were leaving and there was the greeting line. Kodie runs up the Captain...saying "more play...more play". (me I have this look of oh no...the times when you are not sure you want to claim the child..:0). He then says Hello Kodie how are you doing? He then explains that they had met earlier in the day, when he took his daughter up to Adventure Ocean to play and he stayed and played for a short time. So I guess Kodie enjoyed playing with him.

North To Alaska

Kodie and I along with my mom, Karen. Had a wonderful time on our 7 day cruise adventure to Alaska. The only concern I had was if Kodie would be able to participate in the Ocean Adventure Program. All the documentation stated they had to be potty trained, due to Kodie's disAbilites she is not potty trained. So one of my first orders of business was to find out, if she could and if they had to follow ADA guidelines. The great news...was yes, I had to sign a form and was given a pager. Kodie had a wonderful time and loved going to the Club Ocean. The ports of call were wonderful and I will do each of those as a new post...so keep checking back in the next couple of weeks as I work on them. So here are a few pictures of Seattle and Kodie with "Little John", the head guy that runs the Ocean Adventure Program. Kodie really like Little John and actually all the other workers. There were not many kids on the cruise...they stated that there were 30 kids total. Kodie made many friends and one little boy, that Kolby, that was always excited to see Kodie arrive to Club Ocean.
We had a great group of people that we dined with each evening. It was such fun getting to know, Simon and Pamela from Texas, The s lovely ladies all originally from England, although two of them, sisters Joyce and Iris now reside in California and Pam is their friend, who still lives in England. We had a great time.

Kodie is 10

I can't believe I forgot to post a few pictures of Kodie opening gifts. She did open them on her birthday, the family party was just held this week. The family party means the person can pick the place and we go out to eat. Kodie selected the Shrimp Shack. It is her new favorite place and she loves shrimp, because penguins eat shrimp so Kodie eats them too. She got My Little Ponies Ponyville toys. She spends hours playing with them. She turned 10 on Aug 17th...so not too late.

The last camping trip of the season

So our last camping trip of the season for this year. Was in Granite Falls, WA. The weather was great. The kids had a great time. It started out rough for me..I dislocated my pinky toe that morning. I still managed to get the trailer down there and set up. Hey I figured..I could be at home sitting around..or be camping and sitting around. I opted for the camping.
